September: Annual Notice of Change Letters (ANOC)

All Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans are required to send out an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) letter to all plan members by September 30. This ANOC letter describes the changes to the coverage for the coming year.

In most cases, your existing plan will be offered in the new year and you will be automatically enrolled in the same plan without needing to take any additional action.

October 1: View Benefits for 2023

Starting October 1, brokers (like us) are allowed to view and discuss plan benefits for 2023. We can help you pick out the perfect plan for your situation, BUT no enrollments are allowed until October 15.

October 15 - December 7: Annual Election Period

Starting October 15, you can enroll in Medicare Advantage and Part D Drug Plans for January 1st, 2023. This is the only period where most people can make changes to their plans.

January 1st: New Coverage Begins

All plans submitted for 2023 during AEP will begin coverage on January 1st, 2023. The insurance companies will mail you your welcome packet and ID cards in advance, so that you are ready to use your coverage on January 1st.
