Medicare Mama

Sylvia Gordon, aka Medicare Mama, is co-founder of The Medicare Family, a Medicare insurance brokerage that helps seniors in all 50 states find the right health insurance coverage. She is also the president of Gordon Marketing, a National Marketing Organization (NMO), that is one of the largest distributors of health insurance products in the nation.

At a very early age, she developed a strong work ethic working on her family farm in northern Indiana where she was a 9 year member of 4-H. She ran a trap line (muskrats), sold gift cards door to door and de-tasseled corn to make money. She also waited on tables throughout school and did a stint in a call center while studying at Indiana University.

She holds a first degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and is a certified Zumba instructor and lay Yoga instructor. She loves rock climbing, scuba diving and mountain biking (even though she admits to not being particularly good at any of them).

She has a lot of fun raising chickens, peacocks, goats, and her Australian labradoodle dogs, but her favorite past time is reading. She reads several newspapers every day, lots of magazines each month and is always reading a book or 2 at a time.
