Home 9 Part D Prescription Coverage 9 Medicare Part D Enrollment Periods

The number one thing we see with people who already have Medicare is that they haven’t shopped their plan in ages. We cannot stress enough how important this is! You should be shopping your Medicare plans just like you would your car insurance or your home insurance to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

If you have a Medicare Supplement – Chances are that you are paying too much for your coverage. You’ll get a rate increase each year, so if you haven’t shopped around in a couple years you can probably find a lower price for the exact same coverage. This literally puts money back into your pocket, but your health must qualify.

You can shop Medicare Supplements at any time of the year but you must be able to answer health questions to qualify.

If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan – Your plan changes every single year. The drug formulary changes, the doctor networks change, and the benefits change, so if you aren’t paying attention you can find yourself on the WRONG plan. Plus, new plans come out each year with better and better benefits.

Medicare Advantage plans can be switched from October 15 – March 31 of each year.

Prescription drug plans can be switched from October 15 – December 7 of each year.

We’re frequently able to save people over a thousand dollars per year, just by making sure they are getting the best deal for their coverage. Don’t pay more than you have to…that money belongs in your pockets, not the insurance company’s.
